Taste of Bonita 2008

Take a big gulp of Bonita Springs' party spirit and culinary prowess at Taste of Bonita XV on Nov. 16.

Taste of Bonita features about 30 restaurants this year.
Taste of Bonita features about 30 restaurants this year.
The 15th annual Taste of Bonita will serve up a flavorful sampling of the area’s best cuisine, from signature seafood dishes to innovative, ethnic-infused creations.

The town pulls out all its culinary stops for this celebration, which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon. About 30 restaurants from the Bonita Springs area and more than 8,000 attendees participate each year.

Each restaurant sets up a booth to sell specialties of the house, from Italian pasta and fresh shrimp to Buffalo wings and homemade ice cream. Revelers can graze and nosh their way around scenic Riverside Park in the heart of downtown Bonita Springs on Old Highway 41, savoring some of the local delicacies offered by the island’s top purveyors of fresh and fabulous fare. Beer, margaritas, soda and water will also be available for purchase.

By popular demand, local band Deb and the Dynamics will return to the band shell stage with its bluesy style of live music from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All day long, kids can play games, go on rides, frolic in the bounce house, scale the rock climbing wall, do battle in laser tag and more. A raffle for a one-year boat club membership and a seven-day Caribbean cruise will also take place.

Admission to Taste of Bonita is free to the public. Restaurants sell their samples for about $3 to $5. For more information on Taste of Bonita, call 239-572-2707.
